The in-flight Wi-Fi business is picking up with JetBlue and ViaSat working to launch satellite-based broadband service next year and air-to-ground service provider Gogo expanding its partnership with Delta Airlines.
ViaSat last week announced that it would install its Exede in-flight Internet service in collaboration with partner LiveTV onto 370 aircraft hotels in seattle washington operated hotels in seattle washington by JetBlue and one other unnamed U.S. carrier. Installations are expected to begin later this year with all 370 aircraft scheduled to be online by the end of calendar 2015, ViaSat said.

As we begin updating their fleet with our next generation ATG-4 connectivity service, we will also add the Gogo Vision product to those aircraft, said Michael Small, Gogo s president and CEO.
Videos for Gogo Vision are stored on an internal server on the plane and streamed to passengers own Wi-Fi enabled devices. Introductory prices will range from $1 for television episodes to $4 for full-length movies from major Hollywood studios.
Gogo currently provides Gogo Vision to more than 200 aircraft operated by American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. You can Status Match with just about any airline but most of the time it is a one shot deal EVER! I did a status match to Continental to Platinum before they became United as I think I could do it again with United now if I would want to. I also did one with KLM ( why? just because I could and wanted to see how good they were to their own PM s ), from Continental Platinum when they offered that last year.

I must admit that it has been a bit of a challenge to blog in recent weeks. Mostly because both my professional and my private life have been demanding. After all blogging is something I do in my spare time. So even though I wanted to blog a lot about the latest FOMC decision and the world in general I have simply not been able to get out the message. Furthermore – and this will interest many of my readers – Robert Hetzel and his wonderful wife Mary visited Denmark last week. Bob had a very busy schedule – and so did I as I attended all of Bob's presentations in Copenhagen that week. Bob told me before his presentations that I would not be disappointed and that none of the presentations would be a "rerun". Bob is incredible – all of this presentations covered where can i purchase an inexpensive airline ticket different countries and topics. Obviously there was a main theme: The central banks failed.
I must admit after three days of following Bob and having the privilege to hear him talk about the University of Chicago in 1970s and his stories about Milton Friedman I simply had an mental "overload". Peter and Bob are friends and both have been at the Richmond fed so it is not totally surprising that their stories of what happened in 2008-9 are rather similar, but I nonetheless think that we can learn quite a bit from how these two great intellects think about the crisis.

While at the Richmond Peter while at the Richmond fed in 1995 actually wrote about PIH and how it could be used for forecasting purposes . However, as interest rates hit zero the Federal Reserve failed to ease monetary policy because it was unprepared for a world of zero interest rates. The fed moved in that direction, but it was too late and too little and as a result monetary conditions tightened sharply particularly in late 2008 and during 2009. That can be described within a traditional monetarist framework as Bob do his excellent book "The Great Recession – policy failure or market failure" (on in his 2009 paper on the same topic) or within an intelligent New Keynesian framework as Peter do in his 2010 paper.
Peter uses the term a New Keyensian Perspective where can i purchase an inexpensive airline ticket in his 2010. First, for all he realizes that low nominal interest rates is not easy monetary policy. For the second time in just a few months a dog has died on a United Airlines flight. Michael Jarboe was travelling from Miami to San Francisco with his two-year-old Neopolitan Mastiff Bam Bam. Jarboe says Bam Bam was in perfect health before the flight, but when he landed he was informed by United Airlines staff that Bam Bam had passed away during travel.
United Airlines paid for an autopsy of Bam Bam, which found the cause of death to be a heart attack. The company maintains the death was not transit-related. Jarboe white house christmas tour questioned several employees who informed him that Bam Bam was not in an air-conditioned room during the 2 hour layover the flight had in Houston. Jarboe had paid $650 for the transport of Bam Bam, which he had been led to believe included temperature control.

The airline stated, "Given the size of Bam Bam and the fact that he is a brachycephalic, meaning short nosed breed, we made the decision to bring him to our holding facility for greater comfort during his connection." The poor baby got over heated and this has to stop! I have traveled with my dogs and many people who work for the airlines treat them like cargo. Yep, I was thinking exactly the same thing. It doesnt take a genius to understand that an extremely hot day is a day for dogs not to be outside for any length of time. This year was particularly warm. I sent my dogs outside for potty breaks for 15 minutes and I thought they were going to faint. back in the AC for my pooches.
The hold of an airplane is no place for a dog, ANY dog. There is no way in hell I would ever put one of my pets in the hands of any airline. If you can t drive w/your pets, leave them home. Sorry to be so harsh, but I don t believe most people understand what it s like in the hold, REGARDLESS of what the airline says. The airline is in the business for one reason only to make as much profit as possible. If they lose the occasional animal, oh well.
So sad. I work for Delta Air Lines and we have strict rules to keep pets safe. We do not accept pets at all as checked luggage (not in cabin) from May 15- Sept. 15 to prevent the possibility of heat stroke.
