It s hard to believe that in just three weeks, we ll be toasting the start of 2013. The holidays are sneaking up on me this year. Probably because for the first time in my life, I m living in a region where the seasons don t really change. Of course, it s slightly cooler and less humid than it was back in August or September, but for the most part, there s nothing unusual about spending a day or two, or several, on the beach in December in Playa. Playa s beaches in December, map of los angeles in 1910 as beautiful as ever!
Playa del Carmen has already map of los angeles in 1910 hosted its annual tree lighting ceremony and El Buen Fin , Mexico s weekend-long version of Black Friday, took place a few weeks ago. December 12th marks the unofficial start to the holiday season in Mexico with the celebration of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe , Mexico s patron saint. The Christmas season officially kicks off a few days later on December 16th with the first night of Las Posadas , nine consecutive evenings of candlelit processions and parties leading up to and including Noche Buena , or Christmas Eve, and holiday festivities in Mexico traditionally continue through la Candelaria , or Candlemas, on February 2nd.
It s an exciting time to be in Mexico, and in the southern region of the country in particular, as December 21, 2012 marks the end of the Mayan calendar and the ushering in of a new era. Events are taking place throughout the Mundo Maya ; everything from sacred Mayan ceremonies of rebirth and renewal to exclusive nightclub parties.
I ve been taking it easy lately, going out to events, enjoying the festive atmosphere around map of los angeles in 1910 town and training less than usual. I ve also been thinking about my running goals and race schedule for the coming year.
I met my 2012 running map of los angeles in 1910 goal of training map of los angeles in 1910 for and completing a half marathon this past October, and I m planning to kick off the start to 2013 with an early morning run on New Year s Day and a running streak throughout the month of January. Speed will be my main focus in 2013 and I ll be putting some shorter local races on the calendar and setting map of los angeles in 1910 my sights on Cancun in December with the goal of running a sub-2:00 pace in the half marathon.
Cancun is a little later in the year than I m used to scheduling my fall races and December has traditionally been a rest month, map of los angeles in 1910 but the half marathon course is ideal for finishing a fast race a straight, flat and scenic map of los angeles in 1910 course through the city and hotel zone and a course that I think I can run in under two hours. This year s Cancun Marathon and Half Marathon map of los angeles in 1910 took place this past Sunday, December 9th. I had originally hoped to run this year, but after some knee pain following my half in October, I decided it would be best to put it off until next year. Runners lined up for a 5:30 a.m start and the winner of the 18-39 division finished with an official map of los angeles in 1910 time of 1:06:55. The first place women in the same division finished with an official time of 1:14:04.

To actually run instead of walk quickly. For at least a full block. I know, you re laughing. Oh that Maria, she s such a joker. No, seriously. Baby steps. it s difficult to run with a pint of ice cream and a spoon. *wink* Maria recently posted.. Fluff and Fold Reply Laura December 11, 2012 at 12:12 am #
Glad to see more and more people interested in running. Maraton Riviera Maya was fantastic. I did not run the full 42k but even the half made me feel good. Looking forward to do some races this year including Mexico City marathon.
