The Jets were down 17-15 when Geno Smith and the Jets offense took the field on the 20-yard line with under a minute remaining. Smith completed a pass to Kellen Winslow for 25 yards to get the ball close to midfield. On the next play, Smith took off, trying to get into field goal range when he was hit out of bounds at the Tampa Bay 47 yard line. The hit was deemed european river cruise specials late by the officiating crew, and the result was a 15-yard personal foul penalty.

With that being said, Smith and the Jets fought on offense all day. It was ugly at times but Smith got the offense going when he needed to. Smith rushed for 47 yards and as a result result was the Jets leading rusher.
On the other side of the ball the defense held Josh Freeman to 210 yards passing and halted Doug Martin to only 65 yards rushing. The Jets were very impressive up front and forced a safety in the first half to get the Jets on the board.
The Jets simply refused to let the Buccaneers get anything going on offense. They sacked Freeman 3 times and forced an interception. The defense kept the Jets in the game and Smith delivered a clutch european river cruise specials drive for the team as time ran out.
The Jets travel to New England Thursday and hope that the defense can control Tom Brady and the Patriots offense. Smith will get his first road test against arguably the greatest quarterback-coach tandem of all time. The Jets will need to keep it low scoring if they want a chance to improve to 2-0 and shock the NFL world.
