Well I am once again looking at other problems with my new project, my '91 has the cruise control switch and the thingy that sticks out the right side of the steering wheel that also controls the thingy that goes back and forth over the windshield (the wipers for those of who did not get that )
I have a Haynes repair manual and was going thru the steps to find out why it does not work, fuses, switches behind the pedals how do you join the nationwide tour and so forth....I was ok until I came across the part where it talks about the actuator and a cable connected to the throttle body. Well I am not 100% sure but I think I am missing all of those componets? Does any one have some photos they could post of the parts under the hood for the speed control? It would help for my weekly trip to the junk yard

The actuator should be under the hood on the driver's side inner fender - it's about grapefruit-sized, how do you join the nationwide tour with a cable, a vacuum line, and a white plug for the electrics. The cable doesn't go to the throttle body, but instead it goes through the firewall and pulls directly on the gas pedal. Your gas pedal should have a secondary short arm on it that hooks to the cruise cable.
Okay thanks! is this what you are talking about? This is not a picture of mine, but at least it looks like this. I found it off of another web site. I am missing the other cable part. Do I need this?

Yes, my actuator looks like the the one in the first pic, but mine is mounted ahead of the shock tower and just behind the power steering reservoir. My car doesn't have the second how do you join the nationwide tour cable on the throttle body - the cruise cable works the gas pedal through the firewall.
First thing I would do is check the light comes on when you turn onthe system with the switch on the left side of the steering wheel. If this does not light up (fairly dim), check or swap the control module in the kickpanel how do you join the nationwide tour left of your clutch.
it is factory and it is in the factory location. The picture shows it in another location it was the only picture I could find that shows what you were talking about. The cable part I was not sure if it was suppose to be there or not

Hi there, you've how do you join the nationwide tour motivated me to try using the cruise control on my Miata. My last 3 vehicles (and one years ago) have come with cruise control and I've never used it. I used to pass everyone, so I always had my foot on the gas ready to go around someone. I remember when I was younger that for a 5 year span I could only remember one person ever passing me -when the weather was good. The other day my wife was driving how do you join the nationwide tour and I mentioned that it was one of the only times I've ever been in the slow lane. Now that I'm older I'm enjoying cruising along country roads and smaller highways in my miata with the top down off course. I now tend to just drive 20 km/hr over the limit and I just move over when anyone younger/faster comes along. I'll have to read up on the resume speed controls etc.
Ps -I have to admit I talked my wife into moving back into the fast lane because I didn't have the patience to just drive at the speed limit behind an old guy in an Echo. I guess I'm only really driving 20 km/hr over the limit to avoid tickets. I guess I don't have any more patience now, I'm just slightly smarter.
