If we break it down like that, the very unique African-American would cease to exist. We would be annihilated. You can have a black person with two so-called black parents and they would have more white ancestry than someone with one of each. All black Americans are mixed. I still believe race is an issue amongst black people because we make it an issue. I m the only light one on my mother s side (the Hispanic Asian is from my father s side). As quiet as it s kept, I don t think most people give a rat s behind what people claim. Why is that so important to you or anyone else? There are some mixed raced people who consider themselves black, i.e. Paula Patton and Halle Berry. Is that a crime? Black people aren t getting paid for biracial people claiming their black. Sheesh, we keep rehashing the same old tired b.s. on this site. Whatever people claim isn t putting food on my table or anyone elses. The mother and child is black and yes that is what they call themselves in the UK and you can go on AfroEurope and see all the black people living in European countries and still calling themselves Afro European, Europe being their nationality. From personal experience, it is hard to claim black in the UK since we do not have the same shared history like African rental luxury cars Americans.
