The County of Volusia is seeking a highly experienced Convention Center Sales Manager. This sales position is located in the Ocean Center, Volusia County's state of the arts convention, entertainment and sports complex. The Convention Center Sales Manager will be responsible for using independent judgment and professional discretion to book substantial, profitable national, local, and regional business into the Ocean Center that will provide economic impact to Volusia County. The Convention Center Sales Manager will also be responsible for prospecting cheap international car rentals new leads by cold calling, attending trade shows and sales missions, as well as, networking with industry professionals and customers. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field plus five (5) years experience in group sales for a hotel, Convention & Visitors Bureau, or convention center with a strong track record of successful new client development and retention. A comparable amount of education, training, cheap international car rentals or experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements (i.e., nine (9) years of proven experience in sales of meeting spaces and conventions). The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of computer skills to include proficiency cheap international car rentals in Microsoft Office 2007 and strength in Excel and Booking software.
