It wasn t until very recently that I discovered how many myths still persist about Bed and Breakfasts.  In fact, this weekend I visited another great New England Inn with two friends and realized that they were nervous about their first BnB experience.  I couldn t believe it!  Despite hearing all about our Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast , they had so many wacky ideas about inns.  It s time to clear the air!
Truth: FALSE!  Can I make myself a case and point?  Well, I just did.  I m a 23-year-old innkeeper.  And a 23-year-old inn guest.  Honestly, the truth is that Bed and Breakfasts are the best way to travel, especially for young people.  You get great breakfasts for free. You get concierge services and help figuring out where the best places to eat and play are (and the secrets about where to get the most bang for your buck).  Who doesn t want value like that?!  But BnBs aren t just for Gen-X/Yers either the baby boomers (hi, mom and dad) are pretty sweet too.
Truth: Uh-uh.  One of my friends is a self-proclaimed introvert, so this was her biggest fear.  When we started home after our little getaway, she turned to me and said, I get it!  You can be social if you want, but no one s going to judge you if it s not your thing.  That s the beauty of staying in Bed and Breakfasts there s opportunity to hang out with other guests or staff, but only if you want to.  She stayed in her comfort zone, while I, the queen of gab, got my fill of socializing.  And we were at the same place!
