American sued several travel technology companies in 2011, which brought countersuits. American sett


"American Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of AMR Corp., and Orbitz Worldwide, LLC, a leading travel channel schedule online travel company, announce that they have reached an agreement to resolve all litigation between them.  The settlement requires review and approval by the court presiding over AMR Corp.'s restructuring.  At this time, neither company will have further comment."

In each case, the parties didn t release details of their settlements. However, the Sabre settlement included a payment of unspecified size from Sabre to American. In American s quarterly financial report, it booked a $280 million gain that it said was received in settlement of a commercial dispute.
American pulled its fares off Orbitz in late 2010. On April 13, 2011, American sued Orbitz and Travelport together on April 13, 2011, accusing them of exclusionary and anticompetitive business practices. Orbitz and Travelport replied that American was using bullying tactics and attempting to use the courts to revive an unsuccessful strategy.
