I still wonder if they will do an extra nice menu for New Years..although other than serving fish eggs..ugh..on crackers...which I don't like..I don't know what I would consider extra special...perhaps endless plates of plump, lightly breaded fresh shrimp.. fried just right..with the perfect phoenix hotel london sweet coleslaw..and the perfect baked potato..and the perfect hush puppy..with onions and chopped green peppers..fried crisp..
OR..the perfect I am trying to go on the cruise with loose clothes..so when they get tighter..I can still wear them..and Sweets and Fried foods ( which we seldom eat anyway) seem to be the ones most difficult to stay away from..
Thank you! Now I'm going to request one more piece of information.......and I know this is a personal 'taste', but was there anything that you and possibly tablemates thought was outstanding.....or the other side of the coin......very phoenix hotel london underwhelming? Thx for your opinions......

On a Ruby cruise last month, the shrimp and lobster tail was a mix. The shrimp were outstanding, and totally dwarfed the lobster tail. The lobster tail itself phoenix hotel london was mushy and not worth its space on the plate. Very disappointing.

Thanks so much for posting the menus! We're going on another ship but many of these items should also be offered, and my daughter has been asking about menus. She had pretty much skipped eating in the MDR two years ago on the Golden, but felt the food was one of the best things about the cruise (and she's a picky eater), so she claims she's going to try to be more daring about trying out different foods this time.
As for New Years Eve, our last two cruises were during the holidays, and NYE was a formal dinner both times. So whatever is offered on one of the formal night, but I don't recall anything specific to the holiday.
Carnival Jubilee - Mex. Riv.; Sensation - W. Caribb.; Holiday (2Xs) - Baja; Paradise - E Caribb; Ecstasy - Baja; Star Princess - Mex. Riv.; Sapphire Princess - Alaska; Island Princess - Hawaii; Golden Princess - Hawaii (one of the best cruises ever!!!!); another Golden Princess -- Hawaii
They used to have the always available items listed separately, but now they just add them to the list of main course items. I heard someone on the cruise complaining that they had too much of the same thing every night. I think moving the always available items has made the menu seem more repetitive. I listed those items in italics to set them apart from the items that change every day.

As others have said, these are just items that are offered every night. There used to be another set of always available and in the past my hubby would often select the herbed chicken when he didn't feel like one of the featured items. It's not a bad thing, honestly, to have these items on the menu; if passengers never ordered them, they would be replaced by another item. And sometimes people would ask for certain items even if they're not on the menu that night just because the regular Princess cruisers know these are available. It's just like we'll often get the chicken burger from the outside grill for lunch. We know there may be different entrees in the MDR or Horizon Court, but my hubby really likes those sandwiches.
