A great advantage to homeschooling is to have the freedom to explore and learn about the world around us outside of the classroom walls. We want to be able to dive deeper into our interests and further explore subjects we are reading about in our books. Field trips are a huge part of that!
Fridays are normally reserved for either our Homeschool Co-Op or field trips. Field Trip Friday is a huge deal in our home and we already have quite a few under out belt! Today we took a trip to downtown Los Angeles golf travel cases to visit the Natural History Museum. (warning: picture overload!)
This is a great museum with plenty to see. The dinosaur exhibit is their best collection and incredibly interesting. Not only do you get to see the reconstructed bones of these gargantuan creatures but also you get to read about their lives with interactive touch screens that were enjoyable for all of us. We spent a lot of time looking at the bones and reading up on the dinos diets and behaviorial patterns. Seeing the dino bones was definitely Nick s favorite part of the visit.
golf travel cases NHM also have displays of animals in North America and in Africa. It s kinda cool because the displays are semi-realistic looking and the backdrop is constructed to look three-dimensional. You ll have to see it in real life to understand what I m referring to because my photos don t really do it justice. golf travel cases My husband said that the Polar Bears are his favorite golf travel cases animal. They are the strongest, golf travel cases fascinating mammals. They swim in freezing golf travel cases colder with a big smile on their face. They can climb trees and run about 35 miles an hour in short distances. So basically, don t run into one of these lovely white snow beasts.
Jax really loved the insect zoo. There were Hissing Cockroaches, velvet ants, Brazilian tarantulas, giant millipedes, and scorpions. I ll save you the horror of some of the pictures taken of those!
Once we returned home, I printed out this fantastic Field Trip Log that I found over at The Unlikely golf travel cases Homeschool for Nicholas to complete with help. Our plan is to complete this log after each field trip to file away for our records.
