We are spending it with friends and family, this year we are hosting, been doing it every year  for the last thirty years . Spending Christmas on a cruise ship is generally prohibitive time-wise in the northern hemisphere as the Christmas break is not their  holiday season, so even to get enough time off work can be a problem..unless you have planned to do an exciting cruise several months prior to the Christmas season.
On the opposite side of the world , we have the southern hemisphere, airline tickets to purchase Australia included, it would be difficult to find two greater climate opposites. The chances are if you ask an Aussie, what s happening at Christmas ? you won t ask too many before you will get a response  like, Going on a cruise again this year with a bunch of friends and family, been doing it every Christmas for years, probably spend a bit of time on the beach . As you can see.. two totally different mind-sets, both habitual. I think its safe to say that living in the southern hemisphere is for the most part, a more casual lifestyle, laid back. If you don t like ships, sailing, or the sea, there is nothing and nobody, that will entice you onto a Christmas Cruise . A Christmas Cruise, has far more pros than cons, here are a few the Christmas festive atmosphere on-board is fabulous and, you only unpack once , great on-board entertainment , great food and choice of restaurant s - (no driving or cooking), on-board special interest activity, often an on-board free spending voucher. All these are included in your fare only pay for any extras that might take your fancy. Cons are very few you are in a confined area some of the time , you can t get off until its scheduled, it is like a floating block of apartments -with some wave movement , if you decide on a budget priced cabin it may have little or no windows, so get all the information airline tickets to purchase if you still feel that you are going to be on a floating prison ..it s probably not for you.
