I start of this article by laughing at my title, mostly because I am full of it. I really wanted to

I start of this article by laughing at my title, mostly because I am full of it. I really wanted to write this super informative article about how to do Whistler cheaply, with all these really great options for super cheap fun times. Really, I did. Unfortunately, I completely failed at sticking to my original budget. I took that budget beat it senseless and kicked it a few more times just in case. The truth is, if you want to do Whistler on a budget, give up, stop trying, turn around and just go home. Ok that s not totally true but I seemed to find it near impossible not to get sucked into the money guzzling Whistler snow monster lurking sightseeing tours london behind sightseeing tours london every corner. I never intended to be on a budget in Whistler but money comes and money goes and lately it s just going, going, gone. I found myself in the pricey mountain village with a dwindling bank account and a plan to keep things sightseeing tours london as economical as possible.
Of course there are many things that you can do for free in Whistler especially if you are an outdoor enthusiast. Whistler really is a mecca for all things awesome! There are kilometres sightseeing tours london and kilometres of trails for biking and walking, incredible peaks to hike and beautiful lakes and rivers everywhere. But if you got some money to spend then you open a whole new box full of awesome things to do. Whistler boasts some of the best skiing the World has to offer. With over 5,000 vertical feet of ski hill, there really is a run for everyone. In the summer, there is a downhill bike park at the base of the mountain and you can ride the chairlift sightseeing tours london to the top all summer long. There is also white-water rafting, zip-lining sightseeing tours london and bungee jumping. Awesome.
So if you could nail down some cheap accommodation and mostly avoid the Whistler village, then you could prove me wrong and leave with a few bucks in your wallet. But the thing is, Whistler is fun-fun-fun! There is a lot going on in this town; pubs, restaurants, shopping and adventure. It is true that despite my best intentions, the Whistler beast found me, shook me down and robbed me blind of most of my precious cash. But hey, it wasn t my fault. The village resembles a maze to lock you in so you can never find your way out to safer ground.  After a week of exploring and trying to figure out the maze, I still am mostly sightseeing tours london lost, wandering around aimlessly, eventually getting hungry and needing a coffee. Damn. You win again, Whistler.
If you have followed my previous articles, you know that I am a self-proclaimed broke ass ski bum. The only reason I was able to do Whistler as cheap as I did (which was not very cheap at all) was because I was staying with a local, sightseeing tours london who knew where to find the deals. He even hooked me up with a free bike rental. Awesome. The truth is, I still don't understand how I could be a ski bum in this town. Everything is expensive, even when it s cheap. The locals here seem to work 2 or 3 minimum wage jobs, barely covering their rent, just so they can be here. I'm not saying it s easy to make money in my ski town, it s not. But things are cheaper, temptations are less and people seem to have more free time to enjoy the small things in life. But it s totally sightseeing tours london possible that I just come from a lazy ski bum town where people just consciously choose not to work. Whistler is just not built for the broke ski bum. This circus sightseeing tours london of a ski town is built for the richest of the rich. Skiers sightseeing tours london that do a couple weeks ski vacation a year, and they want to do it in style. Swanky hotels are rampant, sightseeing tours london as are fine dining restaurants and designer clothing sightseeing tours london stores selling everything from fancy eveningwear to Gucci ski goggles (really?!). Come to Whistler! Ski a little, but shop more! This should be the town's motto. There are even multi million dollar homes up the mountain serviced by their own private Gondola. Whaaaaat??? sightseeing tours london My mind has been blown.
Well, I don t want to completely fail at providing some tips on budgeting in Whistler. If you want to save some cash, come to Whistler during the spring. The crowds are less and the resort is still open. You can get a spring skiing sightseeing tours london lift ticket for $59. Many of the restaurants in town offer cheap deals to lure in what s left of the tourists. Some of my highlights were the 80 s menu at Kypriaki , a delicious Greek restaurant and $30 all you can eat sushi at Nagomi . Also be sure to check out Araxi , a beautifully decorated fine dining restaurant offering a 5 course meal for only $30 a head (plus add-ons, of course). And some advice, if you are really looking sightseeing tours london to save cash, avoid Sushi Village sightseeing tours london entirely. I went there for a friend's birthday, intending on eating a couple of rolls and maybe a glass of wine. I arrived to a huge glass of frozen margarita and a shot of saki waiting for me and these did not stop flowing all night. Despite my best efforts to regain control, I had to give in. The sushi may have been some of the best I have ever had, but I am pretty sure my heart almost stopped when the bill came. I am told Sushi Village is notorious for this sort of craziness happening. And don t forget, there is still one completely free thing to do in the village, that never seems to get old; making fun of tourists! They are everywhere, wearing the most expensive gear and tripping all over the place in their ski boots. Priceless.
I know I like to hate on Whistler a little bit. I like to say, Oh Whistler is such a scene," and I say, "Oh Whistler is so touristy and it s just so expensive!" These things are true. But it s also true that Whistler sightseeing tours london is kind of awesome. I will admit I had an absolute sightseeing tours london blast. There is no denying there are a lot of good times to be had in this town. Not only is it fun to spend money here, the mountains are break taking and the options for outdoor recreation possibilities are endless. So despite poking fun at Whistler, sightseeing tours london I guarantee I ll be back soon. So the take home message for this article is this; if you are slightly broke and trying to come up with a budget for your trip to Whistler, take that budget and double it. Hell, just triple it. Give in and just enjoy yourself. You won t be disappointed!
