It has taken me 15+ minutes to finish this last paragraph as I battle bus loads of distractions: the palm trees of Tulum out the window to my right, a dubbed Meryl Streep movie on the TV screen to my left (she s great in any language!), the engine vibrations jostling my keyboard from side to side.
Luckily, the constant stream of movies has kept the bus in near complete buy a used rental car silence since we departed San Cris. An angel of productivity must have been watching out for us because this is a first, not only in Mexico but in all my bus riding experience, from Greyhounds to chicken buses and everything in between. Bus noise is far and away the biggest distraction when working on the road and I d dare say, traveling by bus in general. Our bus ride wasn t a total work bust. I finished this post, brainstormed topics for the next few weeks of blogs, and finalized several days of workshop material for Kenya. But on my next trip I probably won t plan for any more on board bus blogging. (We will be taking the night bus from Nairobi to Mombasa on Wednesday and I m sticking with pen and paper.)

I usually travel as cheaply as possible but I went first class this time around because of timing.
