However, there are EIGHT girls in my bridal party, and almost everyone is going. There will be eight

Since we are going to Vegas, I do want to help with the cost of airfare since that can be fairly expensive. Don t worry, I m not forcing anyone to go and spend money at my bachelorette party, as we all go on a yearly trip anyways, so this will just be our yearly trip as well.
However, there are EIGHT girls in my bridal party, starwood hotels contact information and almost everyone is going. There will be eight of us altogether in Vegas, and a couple of others will most likely meet us there as well (but I won t be paying for them).
So, how do I plan on paying for 8 girls to go to Vegas? Yes, I could just pay for it in cash, but that would probably be around $250 to $350 per person for round trip tickets. That could be up to $2,800 in airfare. That would be insane.
I m doing a mix of things. starwood hotels contact information I do get very cheap airfare through my dad s retirement benefits that I inherited, but I don t plan on using that. There are no direct flights from St. Louis to Vegas, so it would be too difficult to shuffle 8 girls on standby and with there being multiple layovers most likely.
We are going to Las Vegas in May of 2014. This will be our third group trip to Vegas and we are all super excited (well, at least I hope they are!). We have always been able to go for super cheap thankfully. The first time I flew standby so it was cheap (there were only 3 of us girls who went that time), and the second time there were 6 so I used some points and was able to get some tickets for cheap.
The first two are super easy. My friend can get two standby tickets through Southwest. Of course, this isn t a gift from me at all, but I m still counting it towards our frugal bachelorette trip savings.
I ve heard of crazy Bridezilla stories where the bride makes her bridal party pay for everything including starwood hotels contact information multiple destination bachelorette parties. And some crazy Bridezillas get very angry when the whole bridal party can t fly together, but I don t care. I don t get why anyone would through a fit over that.
I have been waiting for a good credit card reward bonus to come out. Specifically, one of the Southwest credit cards because they offer a really good bonus system and allow you to buy airfare with points for fairly cheap. And since we specifically want to fly Southwest because they are the only ones who fly directly from STL to LAS, makes it even better.
I have noticed occasionally that one-way tickets from St. Louis to Las Vegas go for around 10,000 points (I ve also seen them for as low as 8,900 points). I need eight round trip tickets, and two are now covered (as summarized above). To get the other six, I will be using rewards points.
I currently have around 40,000 rewards points saved up. The card below will give me 50,000 points (further described below), which means that I will have a total of 90,000 points. I am going to assume that I will be able to rack up another 5,000 or 10,000 in the next 8 months. I need around 90,000 points for 5 round trip tickets (estimated at 9,000 per ticket starwood hotels contact information times 10 one-way tickets).
I m going to realistically assume that I will not be able to get enough points for the last round trip ticket, and that will just be paid for with cash. So, in total, I would be paying for one ticket out of 8 round trip tickets. Saving around $2,500 and really only having starwood hotels contact information to pay for one ticket? Sounds like a great vacation to me!
Each ticket will also have a $5 charge, so I will have to pay $60 in fees for the airfare, which is perfectly fine with me. There is also a $99 annual fee for the credit card, but they do give 6,000 in points each year on your anniversary which help with that. I will gladly pay these relatively small fees in order to get over $2,000 in airfare for almost free.
For a very limited time, this credit card is offering 50,000 starwood hotels contact information rewards points . This is $833 in Wanna Get Away Fares. You ll earn 50,000 bonus points after you spend $2,000 in your first 3 months of opening your account, which is currently enough for 2 average roundtrip fares when redeemed for Southwest®'s Wanna Get Away® Fares. Of course, some airfares are cheaper, and some are more expensive.
Note: If you know that you are horrible with credit cards, then I don t really recommend getting a credit card only because starwood hotels contact information of its benefits. It s always best to be safe especially if you already know that credit cards are your weakness.
That s great that you can have your bachelorette in Vegas with all your mates like that. I think if you want to help out with airfare go for it even with the credit card. I m sure they would appreciate it. Using the rewards you mention is great especially starwood hotels contact information if you can snag a deal or any amount of savings from your overall costs. I hope you all have a lovely time and I m sure we won t be reading any blog posts about what happened in Vegas lol. Cheers Michelle.
Never been to Vegas, but I m sure you guys will have a blast. We don t use credit cards ourselves we are all cash and debit cards, but it s just our preference. If we did use them, we would get the southwest card or a Target card.
I had a really crappy airline card for a couple years in college and I m still kicking myself for it. I need to look at specific starwood hotels contact information deals like you did and take advantage of them instead of blindly opening an airline card. As you can see from my post today, I m all about the Discover cash back rewards. I think if there was a specific trip I had planned I would consider opening another rewards card.
We did a bit of credit card churning to pay for our flights on our upcoming trip to Japan and China. We re not very hardcore however, there are lots of credit card churners out there getting way more points than us. You just need to be careful with your credit score because there will be an impact. Have fun in Vegas!
Yes, credit scores are something starwood hotels contact information that people need to think about before they start churning starwood hotels contact information cards. We re not buying a house anymore since we can t find anything that we like (and because we want to save a little more), so luckily we can take a small hit to our credit score for now.
They offer cash back after so many points. The incentive when I signed up was 15,000 points after making your first purchase within 30 days of being approved for the card. 15,000 points is $150.00. You can put the money towards your credit card bill or have a direct deposit made into your bank account. I chose the later since I only charged $20.00.
Wish I d have known about this offer BEFORE I booked our upcoming trip to Vegas on Southwest! We cruise on Royal Caribbean (a lot!) so I have their rewards card. You can actually get a free cruise if you save up enough points. I usually cash in the points every time we go on a cruise for shipboard credits. Early this year we went on a cruise and had $500 in shipboard credits. Not bad
Ink Bold give you 50,000 (or in my case, 60,000) Chase UR Points, and can be transferred to tons of airlines and hotels. I may use mine for the Hyatt in Maui (only 22,000 pts a night), or to transfer through British Airways for short-haul flights from Seattle to Sacramento starwood hotels contact information to visit my grandma. starwood hotels contact information British airways starwood hotels contact information partners with Alaska and American Airlines, and short flights are only 4,500 miles on way.
This is awesome, Michelle! starwood hotels contact information Extra bonus for the party, knowing starwood hotels contact information that ya ll are flying for cheap/free. We don t take too much advantage of rewards cards, simply b/c I don t trust myself with cc s yet, but my hubby uses our rewards card for his gas purchases for to and from work, and we are saving up for tickets to visit our BFFs next year, as they are moving to CA. First airline flight for the kids should be fun!
I ve never really looked into getting starwood hotels contact information a credit card for the points/rewards. The credit card I have now is the same one they offered me as a student when I got my very first (and only) Visa. I *think* it s free (as in no annual fee) but now I m not even sure if that s true or not. I know it s the cheapest one offered through the bank anyways.
We just finished churning starwood hotels contact information this card and got our tickets last weekend. We ll be going to Vegas as well for my birthday in January. We paid for the room with points from another churn so all we need is spending money.
I ve heard great things about Southwest too bad they don t have many direct flights starwood hotels contact information to most places from NYC. I might look into the card for the future looking to buy a place so can t ding the credit. It s great that you are paying for most of your bridal party, it does get expensive. My wife paid for her bridesmaid starwood hotels contact information s dresses there were only 3 girls though.
Awesome! We signed up for this card last year and got two free cross-country flights to San Francisco, and there s enough points leftover to get my tickets to FinCon for free too Just be sure to close the card before your 1-year anniversary, because there is an annual fee. I forgot to close it, but I called them and they waived the fee and closed the card for me.
We churned this card a while back and found a little loophole. If you churn the card quickly (we did in less than a month) and then cancel, they actually refund the $99 fee. At least they did with my card. Still got the points, just for a net cost of $0.
Look at you go! It s incredibly nice of you to pay for the flights. I ve been lucky and thus far haven t had to pay to purchase a bridesmaids dress in the two weddings I ve been in over the past two years. It s a great perk! Especially because you still have to get them altered after you purchase them, so then I only have to pay for alterations.
I did that whole southwest credit card thing before and it s a good deal, and I ve been putting almost everything but rent on my cc so I can get more points for travel. But on the down side, I have been getting incredibly frustrated flying southwest. They totally screwed me on my this past trip and I ended up having to get a hotel for a night that they didn t pay for not very frugal. The last few times I ve flown then my flight has either be cancelled or delayed hours. Not sure why they ve been so bad lately because I used to LOVE
