This past summer she spent two weeks competing in Shanghai, China with 11 other college players. The tournament was part of a "Bring It Promotions" event that tries to close the gap between the United States and other countries. She played in six matches and got to explore the country.
In 2005 a 13-year-old Desirre Wilkerson walked into Disney's Wide World of Sports complex to register for the AAU Junior Volleyball National Championships with her team.   At this time she was officially honored as Disney's WWS one millionth athlete.  Her and her teammates got shirts and a ceremony in her honor. She also got to 'light the torch' for the Volleyball sydney australia hotels National Championships, which included 300 girls' teams from around the country.
The cool part is, that night, Wilkerson and her team got to serve as honorary grand marshalls of the parade at Magic Kingdom. She got her own Disney float. For a 13 year-old girl, that must have been the coolest thing.
In February, some UK volleyball athletes joined about 250 others to try out for the National Women's volleyball team.  Current players who attended include Jackie Napper, Morgan Bergen, Whitney Billings and Alexandra Morgan . While the girl's all did great, Whitney Billings was the only one who made the cut to training camp over the summer.
Billings and 46 others traveled to the campus of the University of Texas-Dallas to practice the last week of June. The girl's participated in a four-day training sydney australia hotels camp and then divided into four teams before having a five-day competition block against each other. I imagine teams made up of 47 of the best college volleyball players had to have been one of the best competitions ever seen (besides the Olympics that is).
