I have had intermittent rodeway inn orlando issues with my cruise control in my Excursion. For awhile it would shut off when you hit a tough spot in the road. Then it would work great for several months rodeway inn orlando with no issues. Now it only stays on for only about 5 seconds. Anybody run across this issue before and if so what was the fix? The parts guy at the dealer thinks it might be the brake pressure switch. Thoughts?
Just had this recall done when I got my door locks done at the dealership, they didn't ask or anything, their policy rodeway inn orlando is if it's a safety issue, it gets done no questions asked. I was surprised that it lasted so long without getting it done, but then again the vehicle was a fleet vehicle and was serviced by an independent shop.
I had the same symptoms as Big Sky. I changed the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder and it did not solve it (BTW the recall only puts in a fuse, it does not replace the switch). I also tried a new brake light switch on the pedal and no joy. Finally changed out the cruise servo and problem solved. Got a used servo from a wrecker for $75 (Ford wanted $400+ for a new one).
i did wonder why it only took them 15 mins to fix mine , i took a cab home too thinking they would have it all day i got the phone call when i arrived home and was paying the driver. i think they must be running some sort of deal with the local taxi company here as he laughed when i yelled out to him 'hang on, take me back '

The servo is on the passenger side fender. Its a gray metal box with a single electrical connector and cable connected to the throttle body. It's about a 10 minute job to replace it and no programming or adjustment is necessary.
Before I would go that route tho, I would take another look at the switch on the brake master cylinder. The one one mine was raplaced under the recall, and went again and had to be replaced. I believe it is cheaper than the cruise servo.

THe other thing that I have noticed that after they put in the inline fuse harness, it seemed to fix some of the intitial problems I was having. I don't have the time or funds right now to have a guy in the shop to try and diagnose rodeway inn orlando it....
OK Guys- I ran and got the brake pressure switch about $21.00. I noticed when I started to work on it the electrical connection was not that great, almost would not lock into place. So I installed the new one and it came with a new 6" wire that connected to the switch and then to the harness. I have a feeling that the old design was not sufficient, thus the connection coming loose. Anyways if you run into the same issues as mine check the connection at the switch and make sure it is snug, if not change out the switch.
