hey man welcome travel trailer rentals texas to the forums. Don't have a new ranger, but there are a lot of guys here that do, and the forum has been gaining members over the years so there aren't a lot of posts that go unanswered anymore. There is a section for recalls/TSB's up at the top of the page (in grey) that you can check out as well. Might be more on this there if you haven't looked there already.
If you have the switch with the rust red color insulator, made by Texas Instruments, it can crack leak brake fluid into it's internal electrical contacts that can cause the brake fluid to get hot, boil catch fire.
So if any of our Fords have the rust red color insulator on the cruise control travel trailer rentals texas deactivation switch, but haven't yet gotten a recall notice, or have a Ford vehicle that isn't on the recall list (some vehicles aren't) even though they have the troubled switch (my 94 Taurus has this switch), but isn't on the recall list.
Or we can disconnect the electrical connection to the deactivation switch (this disables the cruise control so it won't turn on), tape it's end up so it won't touch short/ground out on anything, until we get the recall notice, or replace the switch ourselves eat the cost.
