Do you need a car ?  Maybe.   If you're sister hotels in cancun traveling downtown for a quick trip, and staying downtown, take a cab. You won't have to worry about parking fees or hotel parking fees.  (Parking rates can be up to $12/hour, and some hotels charge $30+ to park your car overnight/per night.)
If you plan on exploring or sightseeing, rent a car, just have cash ready for valets or unmanned parking boxes, and be aware of the fees you may be charged for parking overnight. This is mostly for high-end hotels and hotels downtown, of course.

AMS TIP:  You must take the ATL SkyTrain to the RCC (it isn't the same train as the one connecting terminals, so MAKE SURE it's the train to the RCC.   Once you've boarded the ATL SkyTrain to the RCC, the train's first stop is the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC). DON'T PANIC!
Airport People Mover : The Airport s underground, Automated People Mover connects all concourses with the terminal and consists of nine, four-car trains operating on a 3.5 mile loop track. Trains operate approximately every two minutes. On average, the trains carry more than 200,000 passengers per day.
Once you get to the airport, the Terminal under construction is the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International sister hotels in cancun Terminal, scheduled for completion in 2012.  There are also various construction/improvements at the airport.
There are seven (7) terminals: the Main Terminal, Concourses A, B, C, D, E and T.  Make sure to check before your flight as to which terminal you'll be flying out of (especially if you curbside check).

sister hotels in cancun Lot s of great info! The ATL is a home base, so I might be a little bias, but I love the experience of the airport. I usually skip the plane train in-between sister hotels in cancun terminals to experience the art and sculptures of the underground tunnels. While waiting for a flight I recommend some SweetWater local beer.
