This condo was more than perfect for our first trip to Hawaii. We enjoyed being able to drive into the city then come back and enjoy the beautiful peaceful sunset from our lanai on our ground floor unit. The unit was nice and the king size bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this unit to anyone who enjoys a peaceful and relaxing condo on the beach. We walked travel to mexico with children to the small mountain on the nice path next to the condo and found tons of coral there and saw some crabs on the rocks. We did not snorkel, travel to mexico with children but we heard that it is a good place to do that. There are plenty of convenient stores nearby and fast food restaurants and Pizza Hut delivers travel to mexico with children to the condo. I guess the only complaint I have would be that the AC did not seem to work really well and it got a little stuffy in the unit at times. travel to mexico with children There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room so we just turned those on and it was ok. Also, the unit could use a really good deep cleaning, but maybe I am just a clean freak. The faucet in the kitchen travel to mexico with children was broken, but you could still use it. The faucet in the bathroom was corroded and could really use replacing. It was very nice to have a washing machine and dryer in the unit, but was very loud and it would be nice if it was inside a closed area to minimize some of the noise from it. If you stay here and you have issues with little travel to mexico with children black bugs wanting to invade, travel to mexico with children I would recommend using the bug spray under the kitchen sink and spray the entire inside perimeter of the unit and around the doors and window in the bedroom. We had issues with bugs crawling on us in the bed the first night and seeing them all over the unit but I sprayed the entire unit with the bug spray and never saw them again. I would recommend the owners to invest in a professional bug treatment company to come spray inside travel to mexico with children the unit once a month to prevent the renters from having to go through that.
The water was crystal clear and the turtles plentiful. Each night we were serenaded by locals ceremoniously blowing the conch shell at the sunset . This was not an act put on for tourists, but rather people honoring a tradition. You don't get that on Waikiki. The Unit (515) was fantastic. I was very impressed travel to mexico with children with the decor of the unit. The large TV's and DVD player were a plus with our teenagers; travel to mexico with children being there is almost travel to mexico with children no nightlife in Makaha. The kitchen and bathroom where beautiful and VERY clean. The beach was immaculate. We were lucky the surf was flat, so we were able to swim 24/7. It is a perfect spot if all you want to do is relax, swim and lay in the sun. Which was all I wanted to do! The only negatives I would say are that not all units are as nice or a well maintained as this one some are in fact quite shabby, and it would have been nice to have a extra set bath towels. travel to mexico with children I have been visiting Makaha for the past 20 years and never stayed at the Cabanas. Because this unit was so nice I would gladly travel to mexico with children go back there again. Thanks Kathy for a great experience you run a top notch enterprise!
Staying at a condo vs. a Hotel is night and day. The nice part about this one is that it had all the items that you need if you have small kids, but just don't want to pack. (Beach toys, Beach Towels, Boogie Board, Crib, High Chair, the list goes on).
We were greeted by Hope after a long day of travel (and some delays in the airport) and felt at home right away. The beaches nearby are amazing. For the most part we had the entire beaches to ourselves. Which in contrast to downtown, where you see the beach and wonder if you will ever find a place to even lay a towel. Up the coast (to the very top) there is a nice beach for kids with sheltered tide pools. Amazing for little ones, warm water and no waves.
The only negative to the place is that it's location is a bit out of the way, but if you're in to early start times during the day (5:30am) then you beat all the traffic downtown anyways (which is a mess!). travel to mexico with children We knew that ahead of time, and planned for it, and so it was never an issue for us. Besides, if you don't plan on waking up early, you will anyways. The roosters and Peacocks are EVERYWHERE and will most certainly make sure you get up at the crack of dawn. It was nice - no alarm clocks needed.
Very nice experience. Great amenities and beautiful travel to mexico with children condo right on a beautiful beach. Seemed almost private. Saw rays, turtles and spectacular sunsets. Surf was a little rougher than the windward side, but still swimmable. Decent snorkeling. Not many places to eat, butif you want privacy and a quiet vacation spot, this is your dream spot.
We Loved our stay in Makaha. My kids enjoyed being just steps away from the beach and my husband and I relaxed travel to mexico with children on the Lanai in the perfect tranquility of the picturesque scenery you see only on postcards. We liked that we were far enough away from the busy Honolulu area to have some privacy, yet we were not that far that we could not drive into the city for shopping or sight seeing. We really felt like we got away from the sometimes busy, hectic life style we live. So thank You Makaha, HI.
This unit was clean and very well stocked with everything you'd need. It was in a good location near stores and amenities. The beach was right in front of our lanai, although it was a cliff with rocks, you have to walk a ways to get to the flat part of the beach. The pool area was small but nice and was not crowded with people, even the beach area was pretty much isolated, travel to mexico with children unlike downtown Waikiki. The only complaint was a slow draining bath tub. Other than that, this place is a great place to rent, plus you have free parking space and security. What more can we ask for!
The condo was great. It had all the creature comforts of home. Beautiful location with great access to the beach.
