Welcome to the world of cruising! Whether novice or seasoned cruiser, picking the perfect cruise vacation just became a whole lot easier. This blog is bringing you the 411 on cruising according to me, Shon "Cruise Man 3000" Ford! This site is a 'cruisetacular' collection of my personal cruising experiences, cruise ship reviews, and cruise line ratings I m bringing you the latest and greatest from the high seas! I hope to bid you a Bon Voyage on a contemporary innovative ocean going vessel very soon! Hey, while you're at it, have a 'cruisemazing' day! Much love Shon!
So how in the world do you get around on an island that's got that funky triangle making things disappear? Hmmm, well, I can tell you a rent-a-car won't help you one bit. Why? Because they don't exist on this island. From where the ship docks (The Royal Naval Dockyard), to the capital city (Hamilton) vacation home rentals worldwide in a cab is $60.00 dollars (USD)... ONE WAY! Do you have money like that? I know I don't... but I know Oprah does (maybe I should give her a holla for a dolla).
You can get around on mopeds, but they aren't really the safest thing to ride if you have no experience on them (trust me, I witnessed way too many accidents from novice who thought they knew what they were doing). So, I have a great, safe and economical plan for you to enjoy and see all Bermuda has to offer. It's called: public transportation! I know, right? Who would have thought?
vacation home rentals worldwide Being an urbanite and city man for many years, getting on public transportation is like breathing for me--it's second nature by now. And if it's not for you, don't be discouraged, get excited to try a new way of island travel! In Bermuda, there are two services within the public transportation division: bus and boat. They make it so easy in Bermuda too, because you can purchase vacation home rentals worldwide and all day transportation pass and it's good for BOTH bus and boat (ferry service they call it).
As you saw in the video above, I got the 3 day transportation pass. With that, I roamed the island on as many buses and ferries as I wanted (it was a blast). I highly recommend you purchase these passes when you get to Bermuda. It'll save you loads of money! Here's the pricing for summer 2012:
Oh, and the great news is, children under five are F-R-E-E! I'm telling you, this is the most economical way to get around Bermuda and I hope you and yours take advantage vacation home rentals worldwide of it when you visit! You can purchase the transportation passes vacation home rentals worldwide from an information booth at Kings Wharf and from the information counter at Heritage Wharf (you'll see both when you disembark your ship).
To date, my cruising record spans across 26 unique innovative vessels on a combination of 5 cruise lines! I'll admit it, I'm a cruising addict! My favorite cruise line is Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)--I just love the 'Freestyle Cruising' concept!
