"I am so proud of our company and what we've accomplished over the last quarter century," said Hefferon. "Ever since I was in high school I have had a simple, but highly personal entrepreneurial goal: I wanted my life and business to revolve around cycling. Mission accomplished!"
While attending travel reservations Cornell University , Hefferon led student bike tours and bike touring courses for Cornell's Wilderness Reflections . After graduating, she was awarded a Rotary Scholarship to study Art in Florence, Italy, where she cycled over 200 miles a week. After three years, she returned to the USA for art school, all the while envisioning starting a bicycle tour business. In 1988, Ciclismo Classico was born with two 12-day itineraries travel reservations in Tuscany.
"When I started imagining the idea of my own bicycle touring company, I envisioned bringing travel reservations together all of my passions: cycling, travel, art, teaching, meeting new people, creative expression, culture, nature, photography, and writing, and making a difference in the world," said Hefferon.
