SYRACUSE — By popular demand, a Syracuse favorite returns at Thursday, July 10, as the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra (SSO) brings the sound of the Beatles to the Mulroy aaa discount hotels Civic Center at the Oncenter for the last special event of the 2007-08 season: "Classical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to The Beatles."
"Classical Mystery Tour" brings the experience of "Sgt. Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band," aaa discount hotels "A Day in the Life," "All You Need is Love" and other fan favorites performed live exactly aaa discount hotels as they were written and performed in the studio. Hear "Penny Lane" with a live trumpet section; experience the beauty of "Yesterday" with an acoustic guitar and string quartet; and enjoy the rock/classical aaa discount hotels blend on the hard-edged "I Am the Walrus." Originally members of the Broadway sensation "Beatlemania," aaa discount hotels the Beatle look-alikes of "Classical Mystery Tour" will take concertgoers on a nostalgic and entertaining trip from start to finish.
* Martin Herman, Conductor — A resident of Los Angeles, Martin aaa discount hotels Herman was educated at Duke University, University of Pennsylvania, University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University. He also spent two years in Paris on a Fulbright grant, where he worked as a composer and conductor with the New American Music in Europe and American Music Week festivals. An active composer and arranger, Mr. Herman has written chamber and orchestral works, as well as two operas, aaa discount hotels and is recorded on the Albany Records label. A long time Beatle fan, Mr. Herman wrote the orchestral transcriptions for "Classical Mystery Tour."
* Tim Piper (John Lennon), rhythm guitar, piano, vocals — Multi-faceted aaa discount hotels musician, actor, and songwriter, Tim Piper, has traveled the world performing music made famous by The Beatles. From his early teen years in Southern California, Piper played in numerous original aaa discount hotels and Top 40 cover bands while honing his skills as a guitarist, bass player, singer, and songwriter. In addition to having been a member of various Beatles tribute bands, aaa discount hotels including Revolution, Piper has distinguished himself with roles in the CBS production "The Linda McCartney Story, E! Channel s production of the John Lennon Story, Beatle Wives, and more recently as the singing voice of John Lennon for the NBC-TV Movie of the Week "In His Life -The John Lennon Story."
* Paul Ramone (Paul McCartney), bass guitar, piano, vocals — Paul Ramone began his career portraying Paul McCartney in the Broadway show Beatlemania. After that, he went on to record/tour/write music with Marshall Crenshaw (who had played aaa discount hotels "John" to Glen s "Paul" in Beatlemania) and Jan Hammer (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miami Vice). *Tom Teeley (George Harrison), lead guitar, vocals Tom Teeley has starred as George Harrison in the Broadway production of Beatlemania, as well as the film version. His vocal impersonations of numerous other rock icons have been featured in television ads and other Broadway productions. Mr. Teeley has written songs for artists such as Alice Cooper, and toured worldwide as a singer/guitarist for Joe Jackson, Sophie B. Hawkins and many others. He still enjoys recreating the classic Beatle recordings in a live performance setting with an attention to detail that is his hallmark.
*Chris Camilleri (Ringo Starr), drums, vocals — Chris Camilleri was born in Bethpage, NY. An early and extended affinity for the drums bore fruit at the end of his school aaa discount hotels years, when he began to perform with various bands in the New York tri-state area. A founding member of the internationally renowned Beatle copy band Liverpool, he began performing at the Beatlefest national conventions in 1979 (an extended engagement that continues to this day). During this time, he has also performed with well known artists including Micky Dolenz, Joe Walsh and Billy Squier. Mr. Camilleri has worked extensively in the computer and voice-over fields. In late 1994, he lent his voice to several area radio campaigns and continues to pursue this field.
During its 39-week season, the 80-member Syracuse Symphony Orchestra performs for more than 225,000 audience members through 193 full-orchestra and ensemble concerts in 18 counties throughout New York State. Founded in 1961, the Syracuse Symphony, led by a conducting staff of international caliber, has performed five concerts at Carnegie Hall, and was presented with the NYS Governor s Arts Award in 1999.
