No matter your political persuasion, what's happening in the world at large and in our own backyards influences what we eat. Undeniably, we experience different cultures and participate in a range of issues through food. It's making is an expressive and communal act. about Elizabeth : Jones is a writer, producer and the founder of the Food Book Fair , a festival and conference about food culture, art, architecture, activism, and publishing. The first annual NYC Food Book Fair, held on May 4-6, 2012 featured food personalities and innovators including April Bloomfield, Marion Nestle, Harold McGee, Melissa Clark, Peter Meehan, Jennifer Rubell and many others. Lauded by The New York Times, and the LA Weekly as "The Coachella of writing about eating," over 80 media outlets celebrated the Food Book Fair. Jones is planning to take the Fair on the road in 2013. In 2010, Jones was responsible for producing the Taste of Greenmarket , bringing together NYC's most celebrated chefs for GrowNYC/Greenmarket, with whom she also programmed and produced events in the Union Square Pavilion. A passionate evangelist for food systems education, Jones has built relationships with farmers, community organizations and local businesses utilizing strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial personality.
