We recently were able to take a trip to Pigeon Forge TN courtesy of the Titanic cruise ship grand princess Museum and as part of US Family Guide. I was so excited to start on this trip since I'd never been to Pigeon Forge other than to just drive through the area on our way to another destination. I'd been thinking about going over there since it's really close, within 2 hours drive, and I'd heard a lot about the area.
We left home around noon and headed west on I-40 for our short drive. After a few stops along the way, we rolled into town around 4 pm, and since we came up on the Titanic Museum first, we stopped by there to pick up our packet, cruise ship grand princess then a couple more blocks to our hotel.
The Hollywood Wax Museum was our "landmark" when we got into town, since the turn to our Hotel was at the stoplight near this building. We knew when we were getting close to this building we needed to get into the correct lane to turn, which, at times, just changing lanes in Pigeon Forge can take you several blocks to do. But the upside of that is that you get to see a lot of the town you might miss if you were zooming by at a faster pace.
We stayed at the Music Road Hotel, and I was happy to see that it was down a ways from the main highway through town, so we didn't have all the traffic noise there. They were doing some maintenance work on the outdoor pool while we were there, but we had access to the indoor pool along with being able to go across the street to the sister cruise ship grand princess hotel, Music Road Inn, and use that outdoor pool.
When we entered the hotel, I was impressed by the clean smell. The front desk area, along with a small shop that carried anything you might have forgotten and a small variety of souvenirs was clean and fresh, not even a speck of dust was to be found! The lobby and the sitting area was very welcoming and made you immediately feel comfortable.
Check in was a breeze and the people working the check in were a pleasure to deal with. When we got upstairs and opened the door to our room, I was happy to see that it was a lot bigger than I expected and we had a very nice balcony to sit on! There were two queen beds that were very comfortable cruise ship grand princess and had plenty of pillows! I hate going to a hotel and having to hunt for a decent pillow, but that was definitely not the case here! Both beds had four pillows of varying firmness so it was simple to find a pillow that was just right for me.
The rooms smelled fresh and were very clean. The bathroom had a nice sized tub and shower and a long counter with a double sink and a stool to sit on to put on your makeup! I really liked that extra feature!
Speaking of the bathroom, I've spent a lot of my life in and out of hotels, but this was the first time I found, as part of the amenities, something cruise ship grand princess I always seem to forget and can't stand being without! Now don't laugh, but I was so excited to see they provided little packs of Q-Tips with the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, make up remover cloth, soap and cotton balls! I can't stand to have water in my ears or to feel like they're yucky, I go through a lot of Q-tips at home, so to find that the hotel provided them, that was a definite plus for me! (Yes, I know, a bit on the weird side. lol)
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The free breakfast was outstanding! Good fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, light, fluffy biscuits and scrumptious sausage gravy, sweet rolls, coffee, juices, cereals, fruit, and ice cold milk, another of my all time favorites! If you're ever in Pigeon Forge, I definitely recommend this hotel.
