Killing time near Tampa airport.... We are heading down to englewood beginning of may, but get in two hours earlier than my dad....any tackle shops/fishing piers/bridges we could hit to kill some time before his flight gets in?
Tampa Fishing Outfitters is about a 10 minute ride east of the airport near Raymond James Stadium(where the Bucs play) and Steinbrenner Field(Yankes Spring Training). Nice tackle shop with a bunch of good stuff. Fortunately/unfortunately, you can also buy hookers, strippers, adult movies and novelty items all in the same area
Yep, from what I understand you may get some eye candy there from time to time. I heard that the girls from Mons Venus will go in there to get a drink. While you're in the area, check out Total Wines- big ass liquor store- if you need to stock up for your trip.
If you are in tampa for a couple hours, i wouldnt stray too far from the airport. To get a good feel of the city, leave the airport and go down boyscout rd until it turns into columbus dr. You will see the Bucs stadium, Yankees spring training complez, and eat at any of the Cuban restaurants on columbus dr. La Teresita and Arco Iris are the local favorites. Very authentic, very inexpensive, and very close. After you eat, head to the Mons, 2001, or tampa fishing outfitters to kill another hour or so.
