Stag and hen weekends often tend to have a "what happens on tour, stays on tour" mentality and these days, they're less a 'last taste of freedom' and more of a chance to chill out, relax and enjoy yourself with your mates before the big day.
Take for example, one of our clients who took part in a go-karting race as part of a stag weekend. Our client was knocked out of his kart when a fellow karter collided with him head on at 50mph. He suffered a severe closed head injury and decided to make a claim against the karting centre for failing to ensure his safety. Jason Harwood, a senior associate at JMW, handled the claim. Our client told Jason that the other karter collided with him because he was attempting to re-join the track on a cut through, was driving the wrong way and therefore placed our client in danger. The karting western caribean cruises centre denied liability for the accident, suggesting the fault lay with the other driver.
Jason highlighted that the accident would not have happened if the cut through had been blocked off, and that the karting centre's failure to do this was both negligent and a breach of contract. He was also able to use reports western caribean cruises prepared by medical experts who examined the client to outline the seriousness of his injuries. He was also able to highlight that the stag party was hungover, and yet were still allowed to take part in the racing, despite this violating national guidelines. Jason made an offer of £15,000 to settle our client's case, which the defendant's solicitor agreed to.
Paintballing is another popular stag do pastime, and again, we've seen some injured stag party members as a result of mishaps on the course. Our latest case involves the stag himself. The owners of the course allowed the entire party to go ahead with the planned events despite the fact that the ground was waterlogged due to heavy rain in the previous days. The stag team played a game which involved making their way to a double decker bus. But thanks to the rain-soaked ground, our client didn't western caribean cruises see a large pothole full of water and put his right foot through it, breaking his leg. This ruined the stag's day, his wedding and honeymoon. This case continues, western caribean cruises but our team is committed to doing the very best it can for its clients and we are keen to get a positive outcome for this client.
Another western caribean cruises new case we're dealing with involves a client who was injured when his stag party went on a tank driving experience weekend. Our client's party had not received any health and safety training, and our client was attempting to exit the tank after having had his turn in it. Meanwhile, another member of his party was coming up the ladder to enter the tank. Our client was unsure what to do, but felt like he was left with no option but to jump off the tank and onto the ground below, and in doing so, broke his ankle. We are currently waiting for the tank driving experience's insurer to make a decision on their liability for the case and hope to settle it favourably for our client.
