Now is the time to buy tickets for January, don t wait until January, you need to buy at least a month out to get a good fare. If you want the cheapest fares, check China Airlines (through Taipei) or United Airlines. Cathay Pacific through Hong Kong often has competitive fares to BKK. If you can find a good price with Cathay, I highly recommend using them. Their service, food and in-flight entertainment as well as good layover times is worth a little extra money. Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines are also very good, but most likely more expensive and on many Singapore Airlines flights you may have two layovers.
