New Orleans? Thinking about a trip to New Orleans. I haven't been before and have lots of questions. I have a 14 yr old daughter that will be in tow, so it won't be the wildest trip ever. Are there things to do that are 14 friendly? I have a boat load of points with Drury Inn. Anybody familiar with the NO Drury? Staying maybe 3 days.
I agree on the museum and aquarium, I haven't been there since Katrina, so I can't be sure of how well they have come back. The Riverwalk used to be nice for family stuff, hopefully a current resident used 17 travel trailers for sale or recent visitor will be able to give an update. One thing for sure, Bourbon Street is NOT family friendly. If you want to go there, I would suggest waiting until you don't have young ones with you.
A street car ride through the Garden used 17 travel trailers for sale District out to Audebon Park Zoo is something my kids liked when they were younger. Near the Aquarium at the end of Canal St. is the ferry that crosses the Miss. River. Walk on traffic is free. Go across the river and when you get to the other side just stay on the boat while they load the cars and come back to Canal St. Cheap river cruise. Lots of daytime stuff to do in the French Quarter including Jackson Square (lots of artists who will paint a very good likeness of your daughter for a reasonable price), the French Market (cheapest T-shirts and souvineers), New Orleans Mint, carriage rides, street cars just about everywhere. Good food and shops that will interest both of you. Stay alert as you would in any large city.

Williamsburg, Virginia Whoaaaaa....hold on there sparky. Would you please deliniate exactly which places you are referring to-pretty harsh critisim there. New Orleans has it's warts and is like a crazy old Aunt, but she's My crazy old aunt and nobody talks about her that way.............................................Except me!
Don't mean to offend you Cajunlawyer. I'd only been to New Orleans a couple used 17 travel trailers for sale of times before Katrina, was on duty there a couple of weeks immediately after Katrina, and was there a few days last year. I find the place embarrasing, kind of like a 3rd world country dumped a city in the United States.

used 17 travel trailers for sale I was in Natchez a couple of weeks ago for the first time. You can get the feel of a river town there without all the filth and crime. That's OK, at least you didn't call her the Armpit of America .....We all know that is Detroit
I believe I've been to every major city in this fine country of ours. Each and every one has it's good points and it's bad. NO is no different. I don't think I'd take my 14 y/o daughter (and yes, I have one) down Bourbon Street, but I wouldn't take her to a lot of places in LA, NYC, Miami, Chicago, used 17 travel trailers for sale Houston, etc. either. Use your best judgment and go eat some fine, fine cuisine!
Definitely, theres some good advice given above. used 17 travel trailers for sale The best times Ive ever had in the French Quarter not just Bourbon Street, mind you was during the daylight hours. Theres lots to do and seeeven for a 14 year-old. Id for sure take her on a daytime carriage ride tour of the Quarter.
The St. Charles streetcar ride from Canal Street through the Garden District is a must. Add the Audubon used 17 travel trailers for sale Zoo, the French Market, the museums and the myriad of really good restaurants and you will have more than enough sights, food and activities to occupy your three day visit.
The last several times I visited used 17 travel trailers for sale New Orleans I stayed away from the party district of the French Quarter (not that theres anything wrong with that). In fact, I stayed at the Hampton Inn on St. Charles Avenue close to the zoo. You can park your vehicle there and the streetcar line is just out front of the Inn to travel downtown for a buck.
