When we decide to drive south we have never thought about staying at a Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio . We have always stayed further out of downtown near Fiesta Texas or in the Hill Country. This past weekend we were treated to a stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk and were pretty impressed. Not only was the architecture of the building itself studio tours los angeles ca just beautiful, but the location was absolutely perfect. We had instant access to the famed San Antonio Riverwalk through studio tours los angeles ca the riverside entrance, plus we were able to walk to many area attractions with ease. Although, with all of the included extras at the hotel we had everything we needed at the Drury.
Having stayed at a Drury hotel before, we knew about the free food and drinks served throughout the day. At the Drury, they not only start you off each day with a free hot breakfast that includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and more, but they also serve popcorn in the afternoon and a variety of hot food in the evening. Their 5:30 Kickback® consists of hot dogs, baked potatoes, nachos, macaroni and cheese and more, plus soft drinks as well as mixed drinks for the adults. With 8 people to feed each night, this came as a welcome feature to our vacation budget. studio tours los angeles ca And since the menu rotates nightly, the kids were perfectly fine with the free dinner. We would then round out our evenings with some coffee and hot chocolate and go to bed with full tummies courtesy of the Drury.
Considering the size of our family, we prefer staying in a 2-room suite . This means the girls share a room with my hubby and I while the teens get the pull-out sofa in the living area. The suite we had was a great size and offered enough room for everyone to have space to move, sleep, and store their things. I was very impressed with the amount of closet and drawer space. Unlike most rooms that have just one closet, there were actually 4 on our side of the room and 2 more on the other side. The mini fridge and microwave were neatly tucked away behind a cupboard door, and we were able to neatly get things put away for our stay. Also, the 3 flat panel LCD TV s in the room helped calm the girls at night and get them to sleep. But, the favorite feature was the awesome rooftop pool. Not only was there a large pool, but 2 whirlpools as well. And this was in addition to the indoor pool and hot tub. I loved being able to step onto the outdoor balcony in the pool area to dry off and soak in the sun while enjoying the view. We also had a balcony off of our room and, I must admit, it was one of my favorite parts of the trip sitting on the balcony and looking out over the city below.
