If the world is moving away from media ownership, why are albums being released on vinyl? Why does iTunes still account for a significant portion of Apple's profits? Why are the FBI and Interpol still going after folks like Kim Dot Com and the like?
3:56 - Thanks but "moving away from" and already totally removed from are two different things. Globally, vinyl purchases make up a small fraction of music sales, despite its hipster cred. Subscription services such as Spotify are closing in on iTunes quarter by quarter. Apple is painfully aware of that, which is why they are aggressively entering the subscription service space themselves. I'm not saying it's right or wrong but simply that times are changing.
I can manage my own content thank you very much. I don't need my internet going down and being stuck without hearing the song I want to hear when I damn well want to hear it. So Spotify can kiss my white Irish ass, and you can too if you want to try and cram subpar service and shitty fidelity down my throat.
