This is the type of room I stayed in. The cutesy name made me giggle, but the room was just want I needed. The mini-fridge was not one of those fancy hotel traps that are loaded with insanely expensive but oh-so-tempting treats. I really appreciated that the hotel kept budget travel eating habits in mind with the mini-kitchenette. For only $79 a night, this room is a steal for any couple looking for a clean, comfy place to stay in a nice location.

For those of you who are traveling solo but are not into the whole sharing a room with strangers thing, you can get a Sweet Suites room. The room includes a queen bed, sleeper sofa, plasma TV, dining room table, kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, toaster and coffee maker, and a private bathroom. This is perfect for long-term stays, at 700 square feet there is plenty of room to sprawl out, entertain or just chill out by yourself for $99 a night.
There is a whole section on the Hollywood Beach Suites Hostel and Hotel site called Freebies . I like the attitude of this establishment. All guests are entitled to free bikes, beach towels, writing prompts future of space travel lesson plans surf boards, coffee, WiFi, linens and security lockers, not to mention all the community lounge areas indoors and outdoors. This is a great place to chill out, meet new people and not spend a ton of money.
Another fantastic bonus is the Taco Beach Shack, which is the outdoor restaurant connected to the hotel. It s not free, but is is incredibly cheap and all guests are entitled to 1 free drink upon arrival. Every place has its cons, and while the Hollywood Beach Suites did impress me, it was not without its flaws. The main con is that the walls are quite thin. If you are staying in the hostel section of the facilities, you are not likely to notice or care seeing as you are staying in a hostel. Imagine being next to a More the Merrier room and having to hear the kids jumping on the bed or worry that your neighbors might hear you jumping on the bed and judge you for partaking in something so joyous and clearly necessary when staying in a hotel.
The only other con for me was the distance to Miami. Yes, I know, I already said I enjoyed the experience outside the city, but not everyone would love the commute. More than once I got stuck in traffic heading into Miami and in those moments, I wished I had stayed a little closer. However, they do offer a super cheap trolley service that I did not try out. I imagine traffic is a lot more bearable when you are with a group and not the one driving.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend The Hollywood Beach Suites, Hostel and Hote l. It really does have an option for everyone. I wish I had known about this place when I had to spend the night in a Miami when my flight got delayed. I paid the same amount to stay at a generic chain hotel and was not nearly as impressed with what my money got me.
