However, when consumers contact the number on the post card, they are asked three “qualifying” questions, like “Are you single or married?” Those who “qualify” are invited to attend a 90-minute presentation in exchange for the airline tickets.
More than a dozen consumers have filed complaints against Platinum Travel Network, many alleging they were subjected to high-pressure sales tactics after attending the presentation. Some alleged they felt misled mystery tour by the post card and the company did not provide the promised tickets.
In addition, despite the post card’s claim that the tickets are good for anywhere in the contiguous United States, the company told a BBB investigator that was a mistake. The tickets are really only available to certain cities.
BBB contacted the company about its misleading claims as well as the use of the American Airlines logo, which leads consumers to believe the offer is associated with the airline. The company did not respond to that letter.

My husband and I attended a presentation which we expected to get a high pressured sales pitch to join a travel club. They offered 2 free airline tickets with AA and 3 free nights lodging with Marriott chain. We spent a good deal of time waiting for the program to begin. They had many people standing around waiting to talk to the three couples attending. In the end the presenter did not show and they just handed out the certificates which required $50 for the hotel and $70 for the airlines, to activate the account. Another refundable $50 deposit for the hotel reservation. mystery tour Oh, they also offered 50 percent off car rental and $100 certificate for gasoline.
Definitely sounds too good to be real. Haven t been able to find anything about this particular company but I don t think I will be responding. I probably already gave them too much info such as my email address. Nothing more.
I have done several of these offers in the past and have really benefitted if you go in knowing you are going to get a high pressure sales pitch stick to your guns no problem. Have enjoyed great free trips, shows and amusement parks -
NETRATE CONCEPTS: I had a similar experience to you, Kathy. I, however, mystery tour was not required to purchase anything for my two tickets. They specified there were only 30 places you could use the airline tickets, not that I could go anywhere I wanted. I went to the presentation and they gave me the tickets without me having to give an answer mystery tour about the membership. mystery tour Looking at the tips Charles Woods gave, none of those applied! My husband and I still have not purchased the membership but used the plane tickets to CT and stayed at the Hilton so far so good. Also, we kept in touch with another couple at the presentation who purchased the membership then and there and they told me they have received discounts on all their travel expenses! Also, this particular company has good reviews and personal contacts. Maybe this is not even the same kind of company Charles is talking about! No strings mystery tour for us!
Absurd to attack Sarah J. I have attend these high pressure encounters mystery tour and walked away with free tickets. I have purchased a timeshare. The advertisement is deceptive, but in my experience, I have received the promise.
I received a post card this week (end of October, 2013), and not only did it tell me I would receive the 2 round-trip airfares and 2 nights in a hotel, it also said it included a free dinner certificate to the Essex Spa, and had the logo of the Essex, culinary resort and spa, in Vermont, which further legitimized it at first glance. I did call the number, and it is no longer in service, mystery tour which prompted me to go on-line. Phone number on card: 1-888-215-3143, Promo Code: EVT 2810. the card was mailed from Zip Code 32216, Jacksonville, FL. This scam is still alive and well.
Regarding Oracle Travel mystery tour promotions ..BIG BIG SCAM!! They need to be stopped. Nothing is true about the free stuff. They got us for the $120 by requesting more information after sending in the $120 with a time limit that had already expired!!!! I tried to call several times to cancel and was either put on hold, or hung up on. Very rude supervisor talked to me today. I would be happy to submit my documents on behalf of a class action suite if anyone is interested.
Just glad i checked on here today. My wife and i were supposed to go today for the seminar. We got the same postcard mystery tour but ours was from United. Thanks mystery tour for the heads up. We were to go to the Plattsburgh NY Holiday Inn. Wont be going to that!
My husband received one today, May 6 from United. It says he will receive 2 round trip airfares to MOST major airports in the continental US. And if he calls within 48 hours, will receive a bonus of 3 day 2 night hotel stay. It says that this is not a timeshare or land sale offer and has a promo code. It was sent by presorted first class post card from Tampa Florida. We will not be calling to collect it.
Hi, Noreen! Art s too smart for this stuff Mine is a congratulations on folding paper that has to be opened like a Social Security notification. mystery tour Presorted standard bulk mail from Tampa, FL. The logo says Fly With Any US Airline, dated August 20th, 2014. Then my full name and address Note: You must respond no later than September 10th, 2014.
I am pleased to inform you that you have qualified for an award of (2) round-trip airline tickets. These tickets are valid for travel anywhere in the continental United States departing from any major international airport. In addition, you will receive (2) nights at any one of over 1000 Marriott hotel locations.. mystery tour The retail value of this award is $1398.00.
Sorry, but I suspect there is a difference between Marriott hotel location and a Marriott Hotel. Also note that the offer Fly with Any US Airline is not repeated mystery tour in the text describing award of (2) round-trip airline tickets.
This is a very common name. One Lisa Jackson is an author who churns out romance novels (76 so far). Another Lisa Jackson is a chemical engineer who had a career in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she served as administrator (boss) from 2009-2013. Presumably this Lisa Jackson has had a less illustrious career.
Received almost the same post card, this time with the Travelocity logo. Offers 2 free round trip tickets on Southwest, Jet Blue, United or a comparable airline , plus a 3-day, 2- night weekend at a hotel such as Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton. In fine print at the bottom, it mentions that restrictions apply and finally this, This promotion not sponsored by Southwest, Jet Blue, United, Marriott, Hilton, mystery tour Hyatt or Travelocity. Posted from West Palm Beach. FL.
Received the Travelocity post card, called them at the number given and of course, I couldn t get anything from them in writing. Did an Internet search and found this site. It s clearly a scam. At the very least, they are phishing for personal info. At the most, they are fraudulently obtaining money for a service or product that they don t provide. I don t understand why these operations can t be shut down more quickly than they are.
Also received a flyer from US Airlines for two free plane tickets plus 3 free nights a hotel for coming to a meeting. I called to check it out. was asked a bunch of questions. I gave them a false email and phone number and will not go .The company said it was from Worldwide Travel of Cleveland operating out of the Sheraton at the airport..
We did and it is a big scam and rip off. Trying to get my $120 back, don t do any business mystery tour with them or their affiliates. If they ever come near our area again, I will walk in and warn everyone there not to get involved.
I recently received a postcard in the mail with the American Airlines logo and Fly Away Promotion same deal offer as the previous comments. I was suspicious it was a fraud since it didn t contain my frequent flier number in the address. I m glad I searched the web and read these posts. I do hope the people doing this are caught and punished.
Oracle Travel Promotions is definitely a scam. They got us for $120. They promise airline mystery tour tickets and hotel stays but only lure you along making more and more rediculous restrictions mystery tour on your reservation times until it is completely mystery tour un-doable. They will not refund your money, making some phony claim on restrictions. Run! Don t do it!
Received a postcard that claims to be a Travelocity hotel gift card on may 23, 13. Disclaimer on the card says the promotion is not sponsored by any entity noted on the card, includi
