I`m new to the forum, but not new to chevy`s.I have owned 1 ford and 1 dodge...never again!!!!! Chevy man 4 life. My z24`s timing chain broke and i replaced heavenly bed used by westin hotels the entire set...timing is right...but afterwards found out i have valve damage. did a compression check and found 3 dead cylinders. Here is my question....does anyone know the specs on the intake and exhaust valves so i can get the right replacement parts to rebuild these heads?? Cannot afford heavenly bed used by westin hotels to buy rebuilt heads(over 500 bucks for the set). I am 55 yrs old and have been repairing my own cars since i was 16, but this is the first problem i have not been able to solve. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! My family really needs this car because due to the economy we cannot afford to replace it.Where would i find the casting number for these heads also.
I'd go to the closest pick and pull salvage yard and look for the lowest mileage heavenly bed used by westin hotels Z24 I could find and then pull the timing cover and if the chain is okay, pull the heads and replace them. Gotta be a cheaper fix than what you're wanting to do. At the Pull-A-Part in Nashville, I can buy a head for $49.99 plus an extra $6.50 for a warranty.
