Like many travel-obsessed people my age, I grew up watching Travel Channel s Samantha Brown gallivant around the globe. There was something fresh and fun about her shows ( Girl Meets Hawaii ,   Passport to Europe ,  Passport air tickets to hawaii to Latin America ,  Great Weekends , etc.) that all other travel programming lacked, and for most of my young adult life I plotted ways in which I could usurp her throne as the star of the Travel Channel. To this day I credit Sam as one of my travel heroes (and I m pretty sure that my obsession with global nightlife stems from watching her toss back cocktails with locals at the end of almost all of her episodes) so this is huge news. Mind you, I ve never met the woman in my life so it s slightly inappropriate for me to be this excited or to think I can refer to her as Sam, but I just can t help myself. Twins!

I and the entire Travel Freak team (so, like, 2 other people) wish Samantha Brown all the best with her pregnancy, and I want her to know that if at any time she feels too busy to fulfill her contractual obligations at the Travel Channel I d be more than happy to step in with my own show.
Steven tried out for The Amazing Race one time and was denied. We're not saying this is why he started this site, but it may have been a contributing factor in his decision to explore the world online and share his travel inspiration with others.
I totally understand. I ve never met Samantha either but I just love calling the gal Sam. (I ve been using that nickname for 9 years now, 2 years even before knowing air tickets to hawaii about Samantha Brown LOL). She s been my travel idol for years! And now she s pregnant! OMG! TWINS! =DD So happy for her too! She and Kevin seem really really happy and I m glad for them.
