Aaaaaa I m so so so jealous of the beach. I hate cruises, but I would enjoy the water and the weathe

We've made it to the final stop on our Caribbean Cruise: Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. It is a private island only used by certain cruise lines. And it is BEAUTIFUL! There are no sights to see, towns to visit, or history to learn about. You are there to relax, eat and maybe enjoy an activity or two. We signed up for riding horses in the ocean, which I will tell you all about in my next post. But before we did that, we explored the area and found our lounge chairs that I reserved with some clamshell sunshades. Here is a little tour of the island...
There is our ship in the background...and the ship on the beach is Captain Morgan's On the Rocks bar. We just looked inside and took pictures. With two teenagers along, the last place we need to be hanging orleans hotel and casino out is in a bar! Anyway, there was a band and it was really hopping after a while.
They did find this little area to show off some sibling love. Although it looks like my daughter is strangling my son! :) I loved how I caught the ship in the little view there. Perfect picture moments make me so happy!
The clamshell shade that I rented came in very handy. These loungers are at the back of all the loungers, so as not to block the view for others, but you can always go sit in one closer to the ocean if you want some sun or a better view. However, it was nice to retreat to the shade and read if you wanted to. There were also cabanas for rent and I checked one out while I was there. They were awesome! Part sun, part shade, part AC...with a stocked fridge!
While I was taking pictures of the kids snorkeling, I was joined by some fishy friends. There were a lot of them and the water was so perfectly clear that I didn't even need to snorkel, I could just see everything right by my feet!
I did not want to go back to the ship after this stop. It was so enjoyable in every way possible. I want to do another Caribbean cruise with Holland America just to go back here for the day. Seriously!
Alas, we did have to get back on the ship, but I headed straight for the balcony and filmed what I could of Half Moon Cay before hopefully returning some day. I didn't realize my husband took this picture of me until I downloaded the photos on my computer. :) By the way, remember the ladies orleans hotel and casino selling stuff in St. Maarten ? Well this little cover-up was one of the things I got. Like I said, I just had a hard time telling them no. Oh well, it fit the beachy Bahama day. I haven't worn it since, but maybe another orleans hotel and casino trip to the Caribbean will bring it out of the drawer. orleans hotel and casino I can only dream....
What a gorgeous island! I love these private islands in the Bahamas because they re not as crowded and just meant to be like a giant resort or a mega-beach party. We haven t been to Half Moon Cay yet but it looks better than the Princess Cays I remember. Love the picture of sibling love and how clear that water is. Not a cruiser, huh? Oh, I think I would take you up on that for at least a little while. Having never been to China, that is too tempting! Delete Reply Shannah @ Just Us Four April 11, 2013 at 1:32 PM

I really like it. What I hear is that it is elegant and less party...lots of people like party cruises, so they say HAL is not as fun. I ve always had a great time, but I am not a big party animal! ;) Delete Reply Gracie Lu Shih Tzu April 13, 2013 at 11:24 PM
