I definitely say rent. So many sites that help find cheapest rate, plus renting guarantees your own car when you need it and less stress in waiting for a taxi. Plus Disney has a rental flad chad travel news branch right outside of magic kingdom which makes it very convenient for a lot. Taxis can really get expensive and to me I would feel vulnerable in one.

I looked into getting to Universal from Disney for last years trip using public transit, and I'd flat out tell you...don't do it unless flad chad travel news you are a small group or don't mind the hour or so it's gonna take to get there (maybe more). There are several bus transfers flad chad travel news you will have to make, and don't even try to get to Universal for rope drop, as it's probably not going to happen.

I'd also get with Guest Services and get a Special Services (forget the name off the top of my head) pass. It's a one time issue, and works on all the parks, iirc. It will help you make your line waits more comfortable.
