The American singer-songwriter Tom Petty was born 20th October 1950 in Gainesville, Florida. His love of music can be traced to meeting Elvis Presley when Petty was just 10 years old. The "King obviously made a huge impression but when Petty subsequently saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show he decided cheap hotels in manchester he wanted to make music as part of a band.
