Obviously, it would still have been possible for someone from the airline to ask me if I had an onwa

I am a massive fan of checking in online, or at airport kiosks. As discussed in backpacking tip #2 , checking in without the help of airline staff may save you having to buy check-in luggage at the airport, should your bag be oversized, or possibly overweight.
However, I recently discovered yet another advantage of checking in to your flight by yourself. Just recently, I was caught business travel scotland out trying to travel to the Philippines from Malaysia without having already purchased a ticket out of the Philippines. I didn t check-in online this time (because I literally couldn t; the airline didn t offer this) and had to deal with the airline staff at the counter desk. They asked me the dreaded question, viz., do you have a ticket out of the Philippines? I answered in the negative. I should have known better; after all, I was a freaking travel agent for two years!
Unfortunately this rule is an international travel legality. It imposes pretty tight restrictions on travelers me thinks: we, the traveling public, must choose a date and destination business travel scotland to fly out to, one country in advance.
However, for those backpackers intending to travel for an unknown amount of time, with no strict business travel scotland itinerary in mind, this is frustrating. Your freedom of movement is somewhat restricted; the where and when must be predetermined at least some time ahead.
Anyway, the next time I flew I decided to not repeat my last minute search and booking of a flight, and so I made sure I pre booked a flight out. And as the airline business travel scotland I traveled with permitted online check-in, I made sure I printed my boarding pass before I got to the airport.
As I already have my boarding pass I did not need to check-in. Not having to check-in meant that I did not need to deal with any airline staff. And guess what happened? Not dealing with the airline staff meant no questioning business travel scotland regarding having an onward ticket. The end result? I was never asked, and hence I didn t even need to have booked business travel scotland a flight in advance! Just my luck
Obviously, it would still have been possible for someone from the airline to ask me if I had an onwards business travel scotland ticket. But they didn t. And I don t think they would once I had already taken possession of a boarding pass.
Someone from the airline did, however, ask me to show my passport, to cross reference my name to the name on the booking; but no, they did not ask for an onwards ticket. Yeah, they called my name on the airport loudspeaker and everything and told me to make contact with an airline staff member. First time that happened to me!
Perhaps I was lucky. But I remember this happening when I flew into Hanoi from Manila. I checked in online and skipped the questioning. That time I had my friends business travel scotland at my old travel agency type me up a fake ticket which I highly recommend! (see backpacking tip #8 on making friends with a travel agent and getting them to do this for you. Perhaps you can buy them a coffee business travel scotland in exchange?)
So remember: check-in online and save yourself having to deal with airline staff. I know most are really nice people, but they may ask you questions or make observations that may cost you money. business travel scotland And as backpackers, wouldn business travel scotland t we rather spend this money on experiences, food or beer?
